DriveSafe Charger
The DriveSafe Charger was my freshman design project.

What?
-
A phone holder that charges your phone while driving.
-
Designed to eliminate phone usage while driving because of the concealment of a phone.

How?
-
Utilized Solidworks develop a 3D printed prototype.
-
Collaborate with teammates to gather ideas and aid in designing.
-
3D Print a final case and use donor parts (charger, etc.) to complete the fully functional product.

Why?
-
To reduce texting while driving
-
Create a product that is beneficial to the wellbeing of others.
Detailed Look
The DriveSafe Charger aims to eliminate texting and driving by creating a holder to keep phone out of site of the user. We reward the user by charging their phone wirelessly while the phone is place in the holder.
This product was created with a budget of under $50. The product, found via our own research, could be mass produced for as low as $15. A price well worth the possibility of saving a life.

Location
Placing the holder on the opposite side of the driver, the phone is out of sight.

Design
Hole in middle is where the charger is placed. The small cut keeps the cord in place. A thin cover is placed overtop to hide the cord.
Practicality
Velcro Strips allow the user to place the product anywhere, even outside their car!
